Something worth holding

The Lore

Where the word came from

Jackson Palmer, co-founder of Dogecoin and the originator of the idea, first conceived of it after noticing the constant stream of new altcoins flooding the market — what we now call memecoins.

As he later explained:

That initial tweet was really a jab at the Bitcoin and altcoin scene at the time — I noticed that SomethingCoin was popping up every couple of weeks (it’s even more prevalent now) and wrote that tweet on a whim.
Jackson Palmer — co-founder, Dogecoin

Dogecoin also gained its developer in Billy Markus — better known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto — who became a co-founder after joining forces with Jackson Palmer. Building on Palmer’s original idea, Markus stepped in as the project’s lead developer and helped bring Dogecoin to life.

One of them named the joke. The other built it. What neither of them ever claimed was the word itself — Something. It sat there for a decade, the placeholder for every coin that ever launched on a whim. Now it has a ticker.

Phase 01

Nothing

A word with no price. The chart is a flat line and the timeline is quiet. This is the part everyone later claims they were around for.

Phase 02

Something

Liquidity, listings, a community that gets the joke. The ticker starts appearing in replies it was never invited to.

Phase 03

Everything

Something becomes shorthand. When a new coin shows up every couple of weeks, this is the one people compare it to.

How to Buy

Four steps. Nothing complicated.

  1. 01

    Get a Solana wallet

Install Phantom, Solflare or Backpack. Write the seed phrase down on paper and never type it anywhere again.

  2. 02

    Fund it with SOL

Buy SOL on any exchange and withdraw it to your wallet address. Leave a little extra for network fees.

  3. 03

    Paste the contract

Open Jupiter or Raydium, connect the wallet and paste the $SOMETHING contract address below. Verify every character.

  4. 04

    Swap and hold

Confirm the swap. $SOMETHING appears in your wallet. From here, holding is the entire strategy.

Questions

Short answers only

A community token on Solana named after the word Jackson Palmer used to describe the endless wave of altcoins. It has no utility beyond being the joke it is named after, held on-chain.

No. Something Coin is an independent community project. The quote and the history are cited as context for where the word came from, nothing more.

Zero on buys, zero on sells. Mint and freeze authority are revoked and the liquidity is burned, so the supply and the pool are both fixed.

Any Solana DEX or aggregator — Jupiter, Raydium, Orca. Always paste the contract address from this page instead of searching by name.

No. $SOMETHING is a memecoin with no promised returns, no yield and no guarantees. Assume the value can go to zero and only spend what you are fine losing.
